The Unit is responsible for designing, maintaining, and ensuring smooth running of PLSG website and webmail, productivity tools and applications that enhance business and operation of the Government and service delivery to the citizens
The unit role is to plan, organize, and manage overall operations to ensure the stable operation of PLSG’s ICT equipment. This includes maintaining and supporting, ICT equipment such as desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and telecommunications systems.
The network administration unit is responsible for managing and supporting network devices – Switches, Routers, Firewall devices, Wireless Access Points, Network Points and cables and Network Voice communication devices. This includes deploying, configuring, maintaining and monitoring active network equipment.
This unit will oversee the planning implementation and tracking of specific short term ICT project which has a beginning, an end and specific deliverables. This unit is saddled with the responsibility of coordinating all ICT training and capacity building for PICTDA staff, and all PLSG staff who use PLSG ICT equipment. This unit must have an understanding of PLSG’s long and short term strategic goals with a view to promoting inter and intra governmental relationships. In cooperation with other stakeholders and PICTDA management should create programmes for capacity building with an emphasis on creating a critical mass of qualified and skilled ICT professionals and experts.
Enterprise App& Business mgt
The role of this unit is to manage and tune in-house computer software systems and network connections to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported organization wide applications including corporate messaging and collaboration system, desktop applications such as office productivity tools. The Business arm of this unit will provide process, functional and technical support and management of ERP application and Supervisory database application. It will oversee system startups in a timely and accurate fashion and provide support to end users. This unit must have an understanding of PLSG’s systems configuration policies and procedures.
